HOLD GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE!
We're thinking about 5pm on the 15th. Maybe walk down the sidewalk with our boxes of T.E.A. (Taxed Enough Already!) and empty them in a mock-tea dumping into the Alabama river.
With the rash of recent Tea Parties, it's important to note what started the trend: we raised over $6 million for Ron Paul and the Liberty movement on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party in 2007!
The Tea Party is a commemoration of the actions taken against oppressive, tyrannical government by the founders of this nation.
Join with us to help us show our elected representatives that we will not stand for it, anymore!
Some basic rules for the Tea Party:
-Be polite and lawful.
-Keep the Tea Party non-partisan.
-Refrain from profanity.
I do think we need to bring an American flag. It is important that we say the pledge. Just because we are upset with what are leaders are doing, we are STILL AMERICANS! It is also important that we remember that this is not Dems against Reps or vice versa. This is our way of getting our voices heard by those we elected.
I hope everyone can bring a friend, a sign and your voices. This is our time to be heard!
Thanks to everyone for coming! This was a HUGE success as far as meetups go. Way to go, people.
Maybe we can get in touch with Nancy Ziccardi at Everyman's Books, Art & Music and see if we can meet there and then walk to the Edmund Pettus to do our mock-tea dumping.
I'll be there, with feathers in my hair.
